General Campbell, VC addresses men of the 137th British Brigade on the slopes of the St. Quentin Canal from the ruined bridge at Riqueval near Bellicourt. Men of the 27th and 30th Divisions fought alongside the British Army.  They were, located on the ridge over the St. Quentin Canal tunnel, a strong feature of the Hindenburg Line.
